GLYCOL INJECTION SYSTEM™

The Aqua Air GLYCOL INJECTION SYSTEM™ (GIS) is engineered to deliver precise, automated regulation of glycol levels in marine chiller systems, maintaining a critical 20% glycol concentration without manual intervention. This advanced system is comprised of two primary components: the glycol injection unit and a 5-gallon glycol storage tank, which can be installed remotely, offering flexibility in system placement.

During the system’s initial fill phase, in new installations or when retrofitted into existing systems, the GIS automatically blends potable water from the vessel’s onboard tank with propylene glycol from the storage unit. The resulting 20% glycol mixture is then circulated into the vessel’s chilled water loop, ensuring optimal thermal management and system protection. Once operational, the GIS continuously maintains the system pressure with the proper glycol water mix, safeguarding the system by preventing fluctuations that could impair performance and cause critical damage and/or chiller system failure.

In addition to its automation capabilities, the GIS provides critical system protection features. It includes sensors that detect any loss of pressure within the chilled water loop, acting as an early warning for potential leaks. Upon detecting a problem, the system triggers both visual and audible alarms, alerting operators to take corrective action. A pressure gauge offers real-time monitoring of suction and static pressure within the loop, ensuring precise oversight. The system operates on standard 115-1-60, 230-1-60, and 220-1-50 electrical service and produces up to 27 gallons of glycol mixture per day, making it an indispensable tool for maintaining optimal chiller performance and protection.
